This meet is being presented to provide Tucson area swimmers with an opportunity to get an official Long-Course meter (LCM) time in various events. 

The meet will be competed in the 50 meter configuration with 2 competition lanes, and one lane for warm-up and cool down. Warmups will be conducted according to USMS guidelines and can be referenced here: https://www.usms.org/admin/lmschb/gto_sanc_warmup.pdf

Facility: The Oro Valley Aquatic Center (OVAC) is located next to Canyon del Oro High School in the James D. Kriegh Park, 23 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, AZ 85704. This is an outdoor 50-meter by 25-yard pool with non-turbulent lane lines.  The length of the competition course is in compliance and on file with USMS in accordance with articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.

Restrooms, drinking fountains, showers, and a changing area are available, but no lockers are available. Temperatures are likely to be hot during the day, and sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen) is recommended. Anyone with COVID-19 like symptoms cannot compete or enter the facility.

Directions from I-10: Ina Rd. Exit #125, east on Ina to Oracle Rd., left (north) on Oracle to Calle Concordia, left (west) on Calle Concordia, pool is on your right in 1⁄4 mile. Parking lots are available directly west and east of the pool on Calle Concordia.

Eligibility: Any swimmer with a valid 2024 USMS registration and a Tucson area residence. International entries will enter the swimmer’s World Aquatics-recognized Masters Swimming registration. For further registration information, contact the Meet Director at Larry.JohnSBSC@gmail.com

Timing will be done with at least 2 stopwatches per lane. Automatic timing will not be used, thus times reported to USMS will be available for Top-10 recognition but not National or World records. All events will be timed finals. 

If time allows, the referee may open the lanes for time trials. These times will not be reported to USMS but, if offered, will provide additional opportunities to obtain LCM times. 

Rules:

• 2024 USMS rules apply.
• All events are timed finals.
• Swimmer’s age is as of the end of the year.

Seeding:  All individual events, will be seeded mixed men and women, regardless of age, slowest to fastest, based on entry times. 

Individual Awards:  There will be no individual awards.
Team Awards:  There will be no team awards.

Results:  Results, as they are available, will be available via Meet Mobile and at the conclusion of the meet, will also be available through SwimPhone. The results, including splits, will also be available through AZLMSC.org.

Entries and fees:

• Online registration only.
• Non-USMS members will pay an additional $20 for the one-event membership.
• Flat entry fee of $24.
• Swimmers may enter no more than 3 individual events.

Online entries must be completed by Wednesday May 29, 2024 at 11:59pm.  DUE TO LIMITED FACILITY AVAILABILITY, ENTRIES WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 25 ENTRANTS.  Deck entries for registered swimmers may be allowed based upon the meet referee’s discretion.
