LOCATION: Derry Township Community Center, 605 Cocoa Ave., Hershey, Pa. 17033 (Map)

FACILITY:

9-lane, 25 yard pool measuring 7’ at the starting end and 12’ at the turn end
All 9 lanes will be open for warmup, with lanes 1 and 9 for starts and one-way sprints
The meet will be contested in 7 lanes, there will be doubled-up lane lines between 7 and 8, and lanes 8 and 9 will remain open for continuous warmup/cool down.
Electronic timing and a 10-lane scoreboard.
Registered athletes will be seated on the pool deck. (Bleachers and chairs will be set up; please do not bring personal chairs.)
Athletes will have access to the competition pool locker rooms.
Seating for up to 360 spectators will be available in the spectator gallery, which is within the competition pool room, but raised above the deck level.
Spectators will have access to restrooms in the facility lobby.
Parking is free and on-site.
The facility also has gyms, fitness equipment, and a warm-water leisure pool. These areas are not open to meet participants or spectators without a Derry Township membership or the purchase of a day pass, which is available at the front desk.

ELIGIBILITY:

This meet is open to all 2024 USMS-registered athletes aged 18 and older. If you are not an active member, you may join at USMS.org/join.
USMS Membership is verified upon online sign-up via Club Assistant.
A swimmer’s age for this meet will be determined by their age on the date of competition.

ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES: Swimmers with a disability are welcome to enter this meet. The participant or coach must alert the meet director and the meet referee as to the need for any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time the entry is submitted. Please email dvchair@usms.org directly regarding any necessary accommodations.

RULES:

This meet will be held in a short course yards (25-yard) pool and governed by 2024 USMS rules.
Events will be deck-seeded slowest to fastest, independent of age or gender. All events will be timed final events (102.10.1). Please report scratches by 9:15 a.m.
The length of the competition course is on file with USMS and complies with USMS articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.
Times from this competition will be eligible for USMS records and USMS Top-10 consideration in accordance with USMS Rule 103.18.5 as an automatic primary timing system will be used with two buttons and two watches will be used for each lane.

ENTRIES FOR INDIVIDUAL EVENTS:

A flat fee of $30 covers meet entry and all individual events.
Swimmers are limited to four (4) total events, with a limit of two (2) individual events and two (2) official relay events. Time remaining in our facility rental will be used for fun relays and there will be no limit on participation, so long as we’re out of the water by 2:00 p.m.
Event fees are collected and processed via ClubAssistant.com upon registration and are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Entries must be submitted using the Club Assistant online entry form.
You must provide an official time or estimate your entry time for all events to allow for proper seeding.
All individual events are limited to four (4) heats, but there will be waitlists.
Online registration deadline is Wednesday, November 13, 2024,11:59PM.

ENTRIES FOR RELAY EVENTS:

There are three deck-entered official relay events. Men, women, and mixed teams will contest together, but be scored separately.
Relay-only participants are allowed, but must be pre-registered and have paid entry for the meet.
Relay cards will be available at swimmer check-in. Please turn them in to the Meet Management room by the start of the meet.
Relay cards must include swimmers’ names and ages in the correct relay order as well as the team represented.
Only USMS members registered with the same USMS team may compete in official relays (no unattached relays). The fun relays (breasterfly, backstyle, etc.) are just for fun and can be anyone from any team.

GENDER AND AGE GROUPS:

Individual Events: Male and Female, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, etc., in 5-year increments.
Relay Events: Male, Female and Mixed, 18+, 25+, 35+, 45+, 55+, 65+, 75+, etc. in 10-year increments. The age of the youngest relay team member shall determine the age group. Please designate A, B, C, etc., if your team enters more than one team in an event.

Warm-Up:

A 30-minute general warmup will begin at 9:00 a.m., utilizing lanes 2-8.
Diving and one-way sprints will be permitted in lanes 1 and 9.
The meet will be contested in lanes 1-7. The lane lines will be doubled-up between 7 and 8. Lanes 8 and 9 will remain open for continuous warmup/cool down, with feet-first entry only.
Breaks/additional warm-up sessions may be added during competition at the discretion of the meet director to manage the pace of the meet.

RESULTS:

Results are posted on the USMS Website http://www.dvmasters.org under results tab usually within 2 weeks following the meet.
A PDF of electronic results will also be e-mailed to all participants.
Meet info will be available via SwimPhone, MeetMobile, and posted to USMS.org.
Separate results will be reported by gender and age group.

MEET NOTIFICATIONS: In the event of inclement weather, facility, or other issues, please check the Delaware Valley Masters Swimming Facebook page and/or website for immediate news. Every attempt will be made to communicate to all registered swimmers via email as well.
