2024 York Candy Cane Catch

• The Graham Aquatic Center pool is has 8, 25-meter competition lanes. It is 6 feet deep at the blocks and 5 feet deep at the shallow end. Course will be set-up as 6 or 8 lanes to manage the pace of the meet.
• The warm up/cool down area of the pool has 6, 25 yard lanes which are divided off from the competition lanes by a bulkhead.
• Electronic timing and an 8-lane score board.
• Seating for up to 1,000 spectators and swimmers with bleacher access directly to the pool deck.
• Parking is available at the Met-Ed building on Parkway Ave., Ferguson Elementary School next door to the Graham Aquatic Center, and on surrounding streets.
  ***There is no parking at the church in the upper or lower lots on Sundays***

• Participants must be 18 years of age or older. The age determining date for competition is December 31, 2024, except 18-year-olds must be of age on December 22. Note: Swimmers who are not current USMS members may compete in this meet. Non USMS members will not have their times recorded in the USMS meet database.
   
• ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES: Swimmers with a disability are welcome to enter this meet. The participant or coach must alert the meet director and the meet referee as to the need for any special accommodations or seeding arrangements at the time the entry is submitted.  Please email bgunn@accomhs.com directly regarding any necessary accommodations.

• This meet will be held in a short course meters (25-meter) pool and governed by 2024 USMS rules.
• Events are pre-seeded slowest to fastest, independent of age or gender.  All events will be timed final events (102.10.1).
• As this is a bulkhead course, the length of the competition course will be verified in advance of the meet and verified at the conclusion of the meet per USMS articles 105.1.7 and 106.2.1.
• As this is a recognized meet, times not eligible for World Aquatics top-10 or world records. Results will qualify for USMS Top-10.

• A flat fee of $40 covers meet entry and all individual events.
• Swimmers are limited to five (5) individual events.
• Event fees are collected and processed via ClubAssistant.com upon registration and are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
• It is preferred that entries be submitted using the Club Assistant online entry form. Deck entries will be allowed up until the start of warm-ups for the session you are registering for.  Deck entries will be seeded last.
•  You must estimate your entry time for all events to allow for proper seeding.
• Online registration deadline is Dec 15, 2024, 11:59PM.

• There are two (2) deck-entered relay events. Each relay event will include a men’s, women’s and mixed (2-men, 2-women) events.  Swimmers may only compete in one relay per event (i.e. you cannot swim the 200-free mixed relay as well as the 200-free men’s or women’s relay.)
• Relay entries are free.
• Relay cards will be available at the Announcer’s table and must include swimmer’s names and ages in the correct relay order as well as the team represented.
• Please enter relay event #8 prior to event #3, enter relay event #14 prior to event #9 to allow time for seeding.

• Individual Events: Male and Female, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, etc., in 5-year increments as needed to accommodate all swimmers.
• Relay Events: Male, Female and Mixed. The relay event age groups are 72-99, 100-119, 120-159, 160-199, 200-239, 240-279, 280-319, etc. in 40-year increments. The aggregate age of the four relay team members shall determine the age group.

• Diving permitted ONLY in designated 1-way sprint lanes, which will be announced during warm-up.
• There will be two general warm-up sessions.  The first from 9:30am to 10:00 am prior to the 800 free/400 IM and a second from 11:30am to 12:00 prior to event #2.
• In addition, the warm-up pool will be open for warm-up throughout the meet.
• Additional 10 to 15-minute warm-up sessions may be added during competition at the discretion of the meet director to manage the pace of the meet.

• Results are posted on the USMS Website http://www.dvmasters.org under results tab usually within 2 weeks following the meet.
• A PDF of electronic results will also be e-mailed to all participants.
• Meet info will be available via Swim Phone, Meet Mobile, and posted to USMS.org.
• Separate results will be reported by gender and age group.
