Sanction: Sanctioned by AZ LMSC for USMS Inc. Sanction number 485-S004

Rules: 2015 USMS rules apply. All events are timed finals. Swimmers are limited to a total of 8 individual events for the entire meet and no more than 5 per day not including relays. Age on April 10, 2015 determines the age group of the swimmer for the meet.

Long distance events: The 1650 will be seeded fastest to slowest based on entry times. All other events will be seeded slowest to fastest. Positive check-in is required for the 1650 and 1000 events. Check-in for the 1650 and 1000 will close 30 minutes after the start of warm-up for that session.

Seeding: All events (except the 1650 & 1000) will be pre-seeded. All events besides the 1650 will be seeded slowest to fastest. No deck entries or late entries will be accepted.

Eligibility: Any swimmer with a valid 2015 USMS registration. International entries must include a copy of the swimmer’s FINA-recognized Masters Swimming registration card and fees in U.S. dollars. Each swimmer must submit a copy of their 2015 USMS registration card or FINA-recognized Masters Swimming card. Failure to submit proof of registration will result in the entry being rejected. Affiliation: A swimmer’s team affiliation as stated on the consolidated entry card or online registration will apply throughout the meet, except that a swimmer may become unattached at any time.

Awards: Male and female high point awards for each age group will be awarded. Overall team awards for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd. Individual Points will be awarded as follows: 20,17,16,15,14,13,12,11, 9,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 and doubled for relays.

Entries and fees:  Flat entry fee of $50 for online entries and $55 for mailed in entries. Fee includes a meet T-shirt.  No deck entries, email or fax entries will be accepted.

Mailed-in entries must be postmarked by April 3, 2015. Make checks ($55) payable to SaddleBrooke Swim Club. Mail check, consolidated entry card with T-shirt size in the lower left corner and a copy of your USMS card to:

REMINDER:

Darian Townsend Clinic: Darian is a 3 time Olympian, World Champion, 8 time NCAA champion and World Record Holder. During the Clinic Daren will focus on freestyle technique, starts and turns. He will also provide a classroom question and answer session. The Daren Townsend Clinic will be held Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 8 am – 10 am at Oro Valley Aquatic Center prior to Sundays meet events. The cost is $60 per person and restricted to 18 years of age and older. For more information on Darian go to

Facility: The Oro Valley Aquatic Center (OVAC) is located next to Canyon del Oro High School in the James D. Kriegh Park, 23 W. Calle Concordia, Oro Valley, AZ 85704. OVAC is an outdoor 18-lane 25-yard pool operated at 80o F with non turbulent lane lines and electronic timing.  We will run 8 lanes for competition and set aside additional lanes for warm-up.

Location: Directions from I-10: Ina Rd. exit #125, east on Ina to Oracle Rd., left (north) on Oracle to Calle Concordia, left (west) on Calle Concordia, pool is on your right in ¼ mile. There is a parking lot available directly east of the pool off of Calle Concordia.

Pasta Dinner:  An informal dinner is offered on the evening of Saturday, April 11th from 6 PM to 8PM.  The event will include a pasta buffet, with a cash bar, at the Mesquite Grill in Saddlebrooke and an opportunity to socialize with fellow masters swimmers and elite swimmers as our guests. The cost is $40 per person and limited to the first 50 people.

Elite swimmers attending the Pasta Dinner:

Darian Townsend:  3 time Olympian, World Champion, 8 time NCAA champion and World Record Holder. Member of the South African men's 4×100 metre freestyle relay team that won gold and broke the world record at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Lacey Nymeyer: a member of the 4x100 m freestyle team that won the silver medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Captain of the UA Women’s NCAA Division I Champions in 2008 where she was a member of the 200 yard free relay, 400 yard free relay, 400 yard medley relay, and 800 yard free relay, which all won first place. Lacey is an individual NCAA champion in the 200y freestyle (2007) and 100y freestyle (2008). Lacey was named the 2009 NCAA Woman of the Year in recognition of her academic and athletics excellence, and community service and leadership. 

Marcus Titus: born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and discovered to be deaf at the age of three. Three times USA National Team; 2008 NCAA Championships; Arizona State University and University of Arizona 100 yard breaststroke record holder; Guadalajara, Mexico Pan American Games; 2011 Deaf World Championships in Portugal; 2008 and 2012 US Olympic Trials.

Jeff Commings:  the first African-American swimmer to compete at the Pan American Games, winning a bronze medal in the 100 breaststroke in 1991. He competed in three Olympic Trials, including the 2012 Trials at 38 years old. He broke his first Masters world record in 2003 in the short course 100 IM and has broken 10 more since then.

Darian, Lacey, Marcus and Jeff will share their swimming experiences with us during dinner.

Warm-up starts at 3:00pm, meet starts at 4:00pm. The 800 free relay will be seeded fastest to slowest.  Relay cards are due by the beginning of warm up. Check-in required for the 1650 by 3:30 pm! The 1650 free will start 30 minutes after the last 800 free relay is finished. Men & Women seeded together, fastest to slowest.
