Lake Harriet 1-Mile and 2-Mile Open Water Swims

SAFETY: Positive check in will be required for swimmers prior to the start of the race. Failure to abide by this will result in disqualification. Swim caps will be provided and MUST be worn.

MEMBERSHIP: Must be a 2015 Member of U.S. Masters Swimming(USMS) or pay an extra $20.00 for a One Event Membership to USMS. Link to Annual Registration.

ENTRY FEE:-
     - Before April 30:  $35 ($65 for both)
     - May 1 - May 31:  $40 ea ($75 for both)
     - June 1 - June 26  $50 ea ($95 for both), Non refundable. $25 extra on race day.

Online Registration Deadline is 11:59PM, Wed.June 24, 2015.(June 21st for T-shirt)
Event is Limited to first 100 swimmers registered.
Race day registration ($75/$120 & USMS Card at beach).

COURSE & DISTANCE: The 1-Mile race will start at the beach and head southeast toward the first buoy; round buoy (clockwise direction), swim west toward second buoy; round buoy (clockwise direction); return to beach. The 2Mile race will be 2 loops of the 1mile course. It is likely that you will encounter an occasional patch of weeds. The course will be patrolled with safety boats. Escorts for swimmer are not permitted. No hand paddles, buoys, fins or other such swimming aids. Use of wetsuits or swimsuits that are made of fabric that provides flotation or flotation devices will be permitted, but not eligible for awards.

The 1-Mile course will be closed at approximately 8:15am and the 2-Mile course at 9:45am.

Course will be marked with orange buoys.

SWIMMER ELIGIBILITY: Must be USMS Registered (www.usms.org/reg) or USA Swimming.

PARKING: Public parking – abide by posted parking restrictions.

TCOWHM Awards: Half Marathon participants must compete in both the 1-Mile and 2-mile at Harriet to be eligible for TCOWHM awards.
